The Sunday Dread

As I sit here I am thinking about how am I going to help my kids mind their manners while taking the sacrament. Every single week it seems that Rex and Ella carefully contemplate which piece of bread to take and then they quickly touch 2-3 pieces before they here me discreetly whisper, "take the piece that you touch." Then when it is time for the water I quietly tell them to place their empty cup into the small (and closest little hole). They like to place it into the largest hole that is in the center of the tray and every time without fail they dribble some of the water from the cup that they just drank out of into other cups of water that will be soon given to innocent individuals. I just want to shriek. I wonder how times over the years I have had droplets of water placed into my cup from a little child. I guess this is how we pay it forward for getting germs and spreading germs. A part of me finds this funny and yet disgusting all at the same time. I hope that my kids are not the only ones spreading their love by way of saliva droplets during reverent time. Just like each and every Sunday, I am hoping that they will listen to me and reverently partake of the sacrament today. Fingers crossed.

Good luck with that!! Congrats on Will graduating!! That is awesome. So, are you staying in freezing weather, or are you headed to warmer weather in Arizona?? Congrats again. It will be worth it, don't worry. Any chance of you coming out here to northern VA??

Living out here in the midwest has actually made me appreciate the east coast even more. No plans to go back east anytime soon. Sorry. Will got a job here in Minneapolis doing trauma at a hospital. In the meantime my hope is that he will look for another job where the weather is much warmer. Hope that you guys are loving VA.

Note to self, don't sit behind the Farnsworths at church : ) my kids don't do that as much anymore, but trust me, we have shared a good number of germs (like sneezing into the Sacrament tray!)

This totally grossed me out and made me laugh. Some of us had never thought about this before! Might have to scoot up a few more benches in sacrament to avoid the kid contamination!
