Minnesota Zoo

This is the exact same thing I was doing when a German Shepard police dog bit me right on the face. The cow was not happy with me either.

These cut out boards seem to follow us everywhere we go.

Rex could not stop laughing here.

These should really be polar bears instead of grizzly bears.

Spring

After visiting this garden I asked Will if he wanted to move back to AZ. He just gave me a funny look. I cannot get over how beautiful these flowers and blossoms really are. Wish you could smell the lilacs.

Popcorn Tree.

Sweet smells of Spring.

This spot looks just like the Garden of Giverny by Monet.

I could smell these lilacs all day long.

Miss Ella Bella turns 3!

Ella has been so excited for her birthday. She wanted everything to revolve around Curious George. We did our best to honor her request. She thought of every detail on her own all the way down to the color of her frosting. Funny girl.

She loves to play with Rex and is so easy going that she will play anything that he is interested in. I feel so blessed that she gets along with Rex so well and they keep each other entertained for hours. She enjoys reading books all hours of the day. Her favorite activity is to spend time with her Dad so he can throw her up in the air. At the end of the day she likes to ask Will if he took all the teeth out at work and then remembered to put them back in before he comes home. I think leaving teeth out of someone is just a disturbing thought to her.

When Ella was an infant the doctor used some kind of calculation using her stats and guess-timated that she was going to be 6 foot and 3 inches tall. It's a little off I think. At her 3 yr appointment her new doctor did the same calculation and said that she will be 5 feet 7 inches tall. Anywho, she's growing just fine and she is not turning into some kind of giant that people kindly keep reminding me.

3 years old.

Ella and all of her birthday food. Ideally we would have eaten this later but she was too excited and could not wait. Curious George, monkey bread, and bananas to make it all complete.

She kept that smile all day long.

The long awaited bike!

It's MEH-HEE-CO Day Ese!

I have seriously wondered if there were any hispanic people in the entire state of MN. Until a few weeks ago I was at the zoo and I overheard a little boy yelling at the top of his lungs "Toro-Toro" at the big buffalo sitting on the ground. Ah, indeed I wondered no more. So I searched and found a celebration going on to honor my heritage (it's an on going joke between myself and Will). As soon as we arrived at the festivities I had a one track mind and was determined to find some empanadas....no such luck....just a taco on a stick. Ewe. We also found ourselves checking out all of the latest low riders with the Vato Cholos of course. I love Cinco De Mayo and all of the pride and joy that it brings out in the large crowds of people. We look forward to going back next year and possibly daring ourselves to a deep fried taco on a stick.

This one is for my Hombres.

Gotta have a bullride.

Dancin' to the music.

April

This year we invited some friends over for a saturday brunch followed by an egghunt. The kids absolutely loved it. The weather could not have been more perfect. I think that we will have to make it a tradition as long as the weather cooperates. We had many egghunts that same day. Living here you just don't know when the ground will be clear of snow or not. We had to take advantage of the no snow day.

Easter

Happy to be outside.

The teeny tiny spot in the corner is Rex's dollar store kite. He likes it.

Off to the egghunt

Hooray for no snow!

This year we used small rollers. Less mess. More fun.
