boy. girl. girl. BOY!

I am more than halfway finished with this pregnancy and I have forgotten to mention it on here. We are very excited to be expecting another baby. I am due at the beginning of June. We are also excited that this baby will be close in age to Olivia just like Rex and Ella are close in age. I could actually see that the baby was a boy before the tech even mentioned it. It was like he was sitting on a glass table and I was looking from underneath. No doubt that he is a boy. Everything looks good. A higher grade of ultrasound was used this time around which meant that I did not have to drink any water! My gestational diabetes has been really easy to manage so far, we'll see if things change.

In this picture he is laying on his back and sucking hard on his fingers. It was cool to see his tongue moving on the ultrasound as he grabbed onto his fingers.

This picture looks like a giant T-Rex is going to chomp on his hand. Funny.

School Bus Accident

I received that dreaded phone call last week from a police officer telling me that Rex's school bus was in an accident. All I knew was that his face hit the window. I took him to the pediatrician who evaluated him and suspected that Rex might have a facial fracture. Not good. I really needed to talk to Will since he deals with facial fractures all of the time. It happened to be a day that he was in surgery for most of the day. Darn. Our doctor sent us to the Children's Hospital for Rex to get a CT scan. I sent Will a text about what was going on knowing that it would be better to speak to him then have him receive a text about a possible facial fracture. It turns out that the CT scan showed no facial fracture. Thank goodness. At the end of the day I was able to grill Will on what would have happened if it was a fracture and let me tell you that I am 100 times more thankful that he is okay. He was so excited to tell his class about the incident.

Winter Carnival 2011

It is safe to say that anything you see here that is white is most certainly made out of snow. I have always wanted to go to the Winter Carnival here in Mini-so-ta but it has been too cold for us in the past years. This year it was in the low 20's and I felt that it was the perfect time to go. The kids had their winter gear on and ran and played in the snow. Will and I wore our regular clothes and we really paid for that. I shivered for most of the time but it was a lot of fun to see the hard work that people put into the ice and snow sculptures.

Minnesota January 2011

....and this is why I cannot live here for the rest of my life. This was the temp outside as I walked Rex to his bus. Was school canceled? No. Has it been canceled for one single day this school year? No. I think that these Minnesotans have some pretty darn tough skin if you ask me.

Rex and Ella are having a penguin tummy slide theme this year. They will do this on their inner tubes, sled, and even with nothing at all into the busy street.

Olivia began walking a few days before Christmas. She is so happy to be upright and vertical these days.

Our December 2010

Let the snow season remain until sometime next year......blah.

Ella was an angel at her preschool Christmas program.

This santa was very quiet and kept to himself. Olivia completely disapproved of him.

Rex turned 6! All he wanted was a volcano cake with a couple of dinosaurs. I had a lot of fun making it for him.

I needed some natural lighting. The only place to find it was in the snow.
