Rex started school again this week. He was so excited to see all of his old buddies again. He is now gone four days a week during the afternoon. The best part is that we have a school bus that comes right up to our home to pick up and drop off Rex each day. It can't get any better than that!
I went into Old Navy yesterday to buy myself a sweatshirt and somehow came out with these two costumes. While walking to the back of the store Rex saw this red dragon costume and went bananas over it. He doesn't even really care about dragons but he really digs the costume for some reason. Then Ella saw the monkey costume and immediately started saying Curious George over and over. I tried to show her the cute butterfly costume but she kept telling me "no." I had planned on picking out their costumes this year, maybe something that went together but as you can see Rex and Ella had their own agenda. I suppose there will be other Halloween years in which Ella will want to be a princess or a butterfly just not this year. I guess this is what we are going with since they are super happy with what they picked out. Rex is constantly asking us to help him put his costume on.....who needs Halloween when you can wear the costume everyday?
We went to a ward activity last night that was centered around apples. The kids played a bunch of games and were awarded prizes just for their effort. We all made our own caramel apples that were oh-so good. Ella had a worm painted on her face and was very proud of it, but she believed that it was a snake and not a worm.

Love the pictures! Rex & Ella have the cutest smiles! Rex looks SO cute all dressed up in his clothes - ready for school!
Aw, I think those costumes are so cute. They are perfect costumes for MN Halloween, because they are warm (at least they look warm).
remember the chicken costume? how i loved that!
Glad Rex is liking school. Mia loves hers and her mom is pretty happy about it as well. Ella may change her mind about the whole monkey costume by Halloween as you ahve more than a month to go, so just be prepared. Hope to see you in a few weeks!!!

That worm across Ella's nose is funny....it almost makes me feel cross-eyed thinking of one on my own.
Good for you for getting a lot of use out of the costumes!
I can't get my 3 year old to wear something other than a princess "girly" costume. I keep trying these warmer costumes. Kids- always opposite of what we want.
How fun! Rick was talking about Halloween costumes trying to decide what we should dress up as, then I look on your blog and you are two steps ahead of us. I love, love the costumes. Your kids make me smile.
I love their costumes!!! Rex looks so big heading off to school too.
